Juicy Cringe-ure

Today in the world of bothered (also to be filed under, whywehateJuicy.com), WWD reports that Juicy is about to launch Juicy Crittoure, a "couture fragrance" for (wait for it) canines AND their owners. Yes, you heard that right, both owner and dog can now have matching scents - now, isn't that the cat's meow???

The "pawfum" will retail for $60 but the pampered poodle needn't quit just there. Additional items in the line will include Shampooch Shampoo, $25 for 8 oz.; Coif Fur, a moisturizing conditioner, $25 for 8 oz.; Soft Spot coat conditioning mist, 8 oz. for $20; Pawtection, a softening paw balm, $28 for 1.7 oz.; Polished Paws, nail polish available in pink and brown, $14 each for 0.5 oz.; Paw Polish Remover, $15 for 24 pads; Pawlettes cleansing towelettes, 32 for $25, and Doggy House Spray, 5 oz. for $30.

Final word? bARFFF!

Irony Alert

I think the French may make me a patriot:

From Chanel's spring '08 collection, up now at Chanel.com

Know when to hold 'em

Well my little cabbages...I am folding. After hours of fruitless searching, I have come up with nothing but sore eyes and a fab D&G blazer that while amazing, alas is not what I was looking for. Ay me. Here's the D&G houndstooth wonder. It is a beauty but I'm feeling too defeated to get all uppity about it.

Obsessive COATS Disorder

Because H&B loves you, she has gone through 135/433 pages of coats on ShopStyle.com and checked out every single piece of outerwear on Neiman, Bergdorf, Saks, Net-a-Porter, E-Luxury and Vivre. Why the madness, you ask? I spotted the hautest coat ever yesterday and fear it may never again cross my path.

In the process though, I have learned that Jessica Simpson now makes coats too. Um, ok. But back to the case at hand (HAVE YOU SEEN THIS REAL MISSING COAT?)

I will find it dear readers, oh yes, I will. Afterall, I'm nothing if not stubborn determined.

Stay tuned...

Nurse Betty?

SpongeBob and a host of A-list supermodels clad like naughty nurses? Why it must be the Louis Vuitton fashion show. Paying homage to its collaboration with artist Richard Prince (he has an RN series), and shining the spotlight brightly on accessories - the House's bread and costly butter - yesterday's show in Paris began with the likes of Naomi Campbell, Stephanie Seymour and Eva Herzogiva, donning see-thru nurse's-attire and black lace "surgical masks." The theatrical event introduced the new bags and shoes much like the Murakami show but we'll get to the accessories later. The burning question of the moment is:

LV nurses: haute or bothered?

Frazzle Dazzle

H&B is having a nervous breakdown swamped up to her eyeballs and will be posting sporadically if it all today and tomorrow. Barring any mad dashes to Mexico, she'll be back with a vengeance on Wednesday.

Any and all well wishes during this time of self-pity will be much appreciated.

Besos,
H&B

Prêt-à-Water

Maybe I'm a bit late to this tidbit, but Christian Lacroix has apparently designed two limited edition bottles for Evian - one RTW and one couture. The RTW bottle was featured on the seats at the designer's fash show, with the tag,

"It seems like Evian water has been there all my life, said designer Christian Lacroix. “I remember the curly label of my childhood in the hotels by the lake where our family used to spend holidays. It is therefore as an amused and rather proud old friend that I designed these 2007-2008 bottles."

That bottle will sell at retailers while the couture edition will sell exclusively at Colette.

And while we're on the subject

...of things that have my panties in a knot... What's up with Neiman's Christmas catalog being out already? I'm sorry, but it's barely a second into October...the temperature is still in the high 70s (80s tomorrow!)... and it's just. too. soon.

Had I not been all haute and scrooged however, and if I did peek inside, I might have been somewhat in awe of its "Fantasy Gifts" section which may include a dragon topiary ($35K), his and her portraits in Bosco chocolate ($100K), a private classical concert by the Kirov Orchestra for up to 499 of your nearest and dearest hosted by - who else? - Regis Philbin ($1.59M) and a rocket racing team franchise (a cool $2M).

But I didn't. Because it's October. And that's not Christmas shopping season. Period.

What a rip off

No, not the Chanel bag (although I'll give you it's pricey)...

I'm talking about Baby Phat's copy, shown on the left below. It's one thing - not that it's right - for stores like Forever 21 and H&M to knock-off a designer, but when designers knock off designers? Kimora Lee Simmons has staged Fash Week runway shows several times for Baby Phat but her accessories line currently includes a near exact replica (save their logos) of Chanel's Coco Cabas bag. Does this seriosuly irk anyone else? Talk to me people!

Smells like teen spirit

"No one wants to smell like Eau de Controversy."

-Courtney Love on why she hasn't launched her own fragrance

Nothing if not charitable!

You'd have to live under a really, really, really big boulder to be unaware that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. There are endless ways to shop for the cause (and we're not talkin' medal pins - not that there's anything wrong with it...). There's Rado's Sintra Jublile Pink watch, Cartier's Love Charity Bracelet, Coach's Bridle Classic in Pink Lizard, Van Cleef and Arpels' limited ed. bracelet Byzantine Alhambra 3 motif Pink Gold, and on, and on, and on... But despite the neverending list of pink products, there's one item in particular that had H&B hightailing it (in the name of charity, bien sur).

Generally, I really prefer to endorse products that donate a majority of the profits to the cause (shout outs to Carolee who is donating 100% of the profits of its celeb designed "Words to Live By" bracelets to The Breast Cancer Research Fund and Philosophy which will donate 100% of the profits from its "Shower for the Cause" to the Women's Cancer Research Fund) but I am making an excepton because while I wish the brand was donating more, (it's better than nothing, right?), it's far too haute to omit.

"It" girl and designer dahling of the moment, Tory Burch has the hottest limited edition bag out right now. How hot? After a total perusing score, H&B ran down to her store (hurrah...they had just gotten them in!) to nab one for la petite H&B (a pinkoisseur if ever there was one!). Down at her Elizabeth Street boutique, the bag was front and center and frankly the picture doesn't even do it justice. Hot fuscia with metallic trim it is a show-stopper (show, show-stopper). Swoon alert! It is phenomenal!

Petite H&B loved it (as I knew she would!) and will no doubt be walking on pink clouds. Available online and in her boutiques (ed note: petite H&B - stop reading here!) for $195, it's a must for all you haute givers out there.
10% will benefit Light One Little Candle Foundation.

Où est the new and improved YSL.com?

It's been touted all over the internets but is YSL's newly revamped and much hyped website actually up? Each time we've tried, we've gotten no further than the "Chargement" or loading page. What's a blogger gotta do to see Gisele in anime? Has the site loaded on your computer? Clue H&B in!

Norma Kamali for Whom???

When Norma Kamali's first line for Everlast hit stores, it was more sporty than spice. But each year, the line seems to veer further and further from its athletic roots. I'm not saying this is a bad thing (Have you seen Everlast's website? Scary!). But do the people you know attire themselves this way for the gym? Just asking...

Jackson Pollack Wreaks Beautiful Havoc at Dolce & Gabbana

Ok, not really, but it kinda looked that way at yesterday's Dolce show in Milan. Domenico and Stefano paid "homage to contemporary art," starting with a blank canvas of whites, slowly building with a fab neutral brocade suit and finally moving all the way to tulle paint-spattered floral gowns in a runway that showcased the pairs' flair in the best of ways. Grand, dramatic, feminine and a bit wild, it was everything you'd hope for from the duo.

Leiber & Azzaro: Like bejeweled PB&J

Today in collaboration-mania we feature Leiber, the luxe American accessories co. (known mainly for its crystal encrusted minaudières) and Azzaro, the Parisian fashion house. The two houses have come together to create a limited-edition capsule collection of handbags, called Leiber for Azzaro, for spring '08. The two-piece collection will include a plexiglass and crystal shell and heart - two classic symbols of the Azzaro house.

“I have always been a fan of Leiber’s creations and Frank has done an amazing job reviving this legendary brand,” said Azzaro's artistic director Vanessa Seward. “Azzaro and LEIBER share a similar savoir-faire, and I believe fans of the two luxury houses are going to be really excited to see these new shapes and styles.”

Added Leiber president and creative director, Frank Zambrelli, “When Vanessa invited us to see her collection, the synergies between Azzaro and Leiber were very clear. The idea of designing bags together to launch with her spring show seemed a very natural collaboration of two luxury houses.” Continuing, “Designing with Vanessa has been such a pleasure. The bags evoke a strong sense of both houses, and their unique heritage is a perfect complement to Leiber’s 45th anniversary next year.”

The Leiber for Azzaro collection will be shown in Paris at the Vendôme Luxury Trade Show (October 4-7), and will be available in the spring of 2008 at Leiber boutiques, select luxury retailers, and through the Azzaro Paris showroom and boutique.

Sugar Shock

Not quite moving at the speed of molasses: Sugar Publishing (FabSugar, PopSugar, BellaSugar, GeekSugar, WorldDominationSugar...) - soon to be Sugar Inc. - is making the moves toward acquiring fashion-search engine ShopStyle.com (if you don't know it, acquaint yourself!). ShopStyle will become a wholly owned subsidiary and continue to operate under the same name and site.

Sweet.

SATC The Movie: The Clothes

Shout out to People for this great sneak peek of some of the Sex and the City gangs' wardrobe for the now-shooting flick. Can't say it's a surprise to find Sarah Jessica Parker in a giant flower - but this is definitely the largest one yet (perhaps its size is somehow correlated to screentime length?). In the next photo, it appears she's toting around the Eiffel Tower as a bag (Does she miss The Rusky? Does she just wear totally whacked out fashions? What does it mean?). Landmarks aside, it does appear that she is *gasp* wearing the same shoes in both scenes...how utterly tragic! Meanwhile, is Charlotte with child? She looks pretty filled out. So much can happen in two years! Pregnancy! Shoe-reruns! My, my. If it wasn't for that flower I'd say it was like we don't know them at anymore.

Wang Goes Prime Time

It's exposure, exposure, exposure for Vera Wang these days. The designer is said to have a cameo on an upcoming episode of Ugly Betty.

"Wearing her trademark leggings, Wang reportedly played herself — albeit a nastier version," reports WWD.

First Peek: Armani Phone

Sleek and elegant without breaking the mold, Giorgio Armani's new mobile - a collaboration with Samsung which will be revealed today at the Armani Teatro before the designer's fashion show- is as refined as his clothing. Developed for the designer's signature and Emporio Armani lines, it will be rolled out in the European market in November and in other countries next year.

The size of a credit card (hope your's is black if you want one!),

the phone operates with a touch-screen interface in which users will feel a mild vibration when they touch the icons. The phone boasts a 3-megapixel camera, an mp3 player, a full internet browser, and of course, a specially designed Giorgio Armani leather carrying case. Unfortunately, it also boasts a price tag that could make even the Apple blush. Currently set at 650 Euro (or $915 at the current exchange!), this puppy don't come cheap (in fact, it's downright obnoxious). But, it is pretty. And rare is it that design is within reach.

Stay tuned...Armani's TV, part of his Armani Casa line to be revealed in early '08.

Haute Off The Presses: Todd Oldham to Join Old Navy

Looks like Todd Oldham isn't a LaZ Boy after-all. Come Oct. 1, the designer will head to Old Navy in the capacity of creative director, according to WWD.

In addition to overseeing the entire line, Oldham plans to develop and launch a line of merchandise under the Todd Oldham name to be sold exclusively at Old Navy stores.

“Todd’s successful career in fashion and design has distinguished him as an innovative creative thinker who also understands how to appeal to a broad audience,” said Dawn Robertson, president, Old Navy. “He understands and appreciates Old Navy’s new positioning and fashion potential and will help elevate and evolve Old Navy.”

Ruffled Feathers

If H&B was to buy just one pair of shoes this season (as if!) there is no question it would be this haute, haute, haute Miu Miu Naplak Patch Spectator ($575, Saks). Love at first sight is a serious understatement. 'Twas obsession at first sight. They will be mine. Oh yes, they will be.

Close ruffly contenders include:

Marc Jacobs Black Ruffle-Front Pump, $597, Net-a-Porter

Moschino Cheap & Chic Scallop Edge Pump, $455,
Barney's Coop

We interrupt your regularly scheduled programming...

Is there something in the air? Not sure about you, but H&B is in hardcore need of a nappuccino today. Just saying...
